“An artist’s duty is to reflect the times.” – Nina Simone

Reflecting the times means witnessing the spaces and faces that define our culture. Grounded by the sounds of soul and jazz trailblazers, I focus my work on the lives of people of color—capturing those quiet, ordinary scenes that, beneath the surface, hold the keys to who we are.

Using everything from the rich texture of oils and acrylics to the raw, immediate feel of charcoal and ink, I see the extraordinary inside the everyday. A simple glance, a routine moment, or a familiar setting becomes a way to honor our history and document our present.
Creation for me happens in the quiet spaces, where observation turns into execution. My process is a continuous dialogue between traditional, classical discipline and contemporary reflection, drawing inspiration from historical masters to refine the anatomy and form of my subjects while letting the physical nature of the materials dictate the energy of the final piece. Beyond capturing a likeness or a scene, my goal is to invite the viewer into a space of shared introspection, turning the solitary act of making art into a bridge of connection.
